Living in survival mode doesn't always look like falling apart.

Sometimes it feels like being stuck, unable to find a way forward. Sometimes it's drowning in overwhelm.

And often, to everyone else, nothing seems wrong at all.

Survival can look remarkably like coping. Being capable, responsible, independent. The one who keeps going, holds everything together and somehow always finds a way through.

You're still showing up. Still the one people turn to when things go wrong. Still functioning, perhaps rather impressively.

And from the outside, your life might even look good.

And yet, something in you knows you can't keep going the way you are.

I think we underestimate moments like this one. Too often people wait for something dramatic enough to justify change, the breakdown, the diagnosis, the relationship ending, the redundancy, the loss, the moment life finally makes the decision for us. But the invitation often arrives far more gently. It comes as a tiredness that sleep doesn't seem to touch, or irritation with things you once tolerated without a second thought, or a longing for space you can't quite explain, or the growing inability to keep pretending something is fine when it isn't. Or perhaps as a single question that keeps returning:

Is this really how I want to live?

Sometimes survival is sacred. The ways we've learned to cope, carry, protect ourselves and keep going may be exactly what we needed. But there can come a point when what got us through is no longer how we want to live, and that's no failure of who we've been. It may simply be the moment to find out what becomes possible from here.

Maybe something in your life is changing. Maybe something in you is changing. Perhaps you're in a beginning, an ending, a loss or a reinvention, or you've simply got that niggling sense that there must be more to life than the way you've been living it. Maybe it isn't more to achieve. Maybe it's more of yourself to come Home to.

So perhaps the question is no longer how to keep going, or even who you should become.

Perhaps it's a different question altogether:

Who am I really, and what would it mean to live from there?

I believe the answers we're searching for are often closer than we think.

For more than fourteen years I've had the privilege of working alongside thousands of talented women through leadership, change, overwhelm, loss, reinvention and the deeply human question of what now?

What I've learned is that what we need most is enough space and safety to hear ourselves clearly, enough clarity to recognise what is true for us, enough courage, capacity and support to bring to life what we find.

I know this professionally, but I also know it because I've had to learn it myself. My own life has taken me through beginnings, endings, reinvention, profound love, devastating loss and more than one moment when the map I thought I was following simply disappeared. Somewhere along the way I found something that now sits at the heart of my work: Home isn't somewhere we arrive. It's who we are beneath everything we've had to become to survive.

My work is about creating the spaces, conversations and experiences that help women come Home to themselves and live and lead as who they really are. Because whether we're leading a family, a business, an organisation or simply our own lives, the way we lead begins with the place within us we're leading from.

Meet Nic...

I'm Nicola Huelin, an author, speaker, transformational leadership and business coach and mentor, and above all someone endlessly curious about what helps us become more fully ourselves. My work has taken me into organisations, onto stages and around the world.

But some of my greatest teachers haven't been found in a classroom. Life has been one of them: starting again, loving, losing, raising a family, building businesses, walking away. And then there was Monty, one extraordinary horse who changed everything I thought I knew about love, survival and healing.

Today, all of those threads come together through my writing, my speaking and The Leadership OasisĀ®.

Different doors. Same invitation: to come Home to yourself, and live and lead from there.
